Seniors’ Group

About

The Seniors’ Group is an opportunity for parishioners to gather together in a friendly, social environment and participate in a variety of activities throughout the year. The meetings are primarily held in the OLGC Church Gathering Space, although some activities are organized outside the parish during the year.

Recent Events

The Seniors’ Group has enjoyed a variety of speakers including former Carlton footballer Geoff Southby for Footy Day in September 2012 and Ms Jo Knoll from Compassionate Friends during 2013. There are also successful outings by the group to the cinema for lunch and a movie and an end of year celebratory restaurant lunch.

During 2014 we enjoyed guest speaker Ron Killeen, a documentary maker and then in August we all enjoyed the film The Hundred Foot Journey and each other’s company over lunch in the rooms under the Church at All Hallows.

Following the completion of his documentary, Ron Killeen presented a screening of The Outer Circle – Melbourne’s Forgotten Railway to the seniors during July 2015.  A wonderful afternoon was shared by all in attendance.
